Conversation Skills
How many of your daily conversations are satisfying and enriching dialogues? If you would like to transform your conversations into talks that leave you full of excitement this is the place to work towards this! Come get some ideas and practise so you can infuse your life with wondrous connection through dialogue.
In our Conversation Skills gatherings you will…
○ Learn about different topics within the subject of dialogue
○ Learn about their uses in everyday life & counseling
○ Practice conversation techniques in awesome exercises
○ Discover things about yourself
○ Get excited about having conversations with others!
So join us! (us being Leonie der Kinderen (Dramatherapist) & Kontessa Legaki (Psychologist)) To engage in brain tingling conversations and enhance a skill you can use everywhere! (Everywhere! Except places where you must be quiet.. 🙁 ) And with anyone! (Your grandmother, neighbor and even strangers in the bus!)
Some of our meetings are inspired by Non-violent communication. We dive into the legacy of Marshall Rosenberg who believed that we all have the capacity for compassion and only resort to violence or behaviour that harms ourselves and others when they do not recognise more effective strategies for meeting needs. In these meetings we’ll focus on questions from the group and practise with case examples through role play.
The costs of one class are € 10,- and you can join every meeting separately. If you join a NVC meeting it is recommended to at least watch the video below to understand some of the basics. The spoken language at the meetings is English, although in subgroups many languages are spoken.
Reflective Dialogue
We dive into reflection as a conversation technique and experiment with how dialogue can be used as a tool for self reflection.
Emphatic Dialogue
We practise listening skills and learn about ways to deepen empathy through dialogue.
Confrontational Dialogue
How do you say the hard stuff? Why is confrontation a useful conversation skill, and how can you use it?

On Questions in Dialogue
Questions are a tool to deepen dialogue, and also to aid self-reflection or increase the feeling of comfort of your conversation partner.
Mindful Conversation
What happens if you really take the time to become aware of your thoughts and feelings before speaking? How do you postpone judgement, and how do you use mindfulness to explore meaning in conversation?

(Self)Empathy
We want to invite you to also investigate how we communicate with ourselves. We would like to have a dialogue about the idea that self-reflection and communicate with ourselves influences how we communicate with others.
