Theatre has many positive benefits such as increased playfulness, healthy laughter, getting to know new people, encourages you to step out of your comfort zone (who doesn’t want that?!) and not to forget it reduces stress! So! Centrum Vaktherapie is organising English speaking improv gatherings and everyone (of all levels of experience) is welcome.
How can we be playful and grow more self awareness? How many ways can we discover to become free in our dance and movement in connection with other moving, breathing bodies?
Dance more, explore more, dive deeper ♡

Contact Improv is a playful movement improvisation that is explored in contact with others. It involves the exploration of one’s body in relationship to others by using the fundamentals of sharing weight, touch, and movement awareness. Besides being fun and good exercise it also makes your brain release the hormone oxytocin which gives your mood a boost!
No experience is needed, just a curious mind
Since this workshop can includes touch we will pay special attention to communication and consent during the various exercises to make sure that everyone feels safe and comfortable.
How do you relate to yourself and others in intimate connections? Are you able to speak up for your wishes, desires and boundaries? Do you experience playfulness and freedom in your intimate encounters? This course will give you an opportunity to explore what brings you pleasure and how to create an environment in which you can be playful and feel safe. This mini course will offer a reflection on your wishes and needs and inspire you in consciously shaping your relationships in a way that matches where you are in your personal and sexual development.
Topics of the meetings:
29 – 10 – 20 ♡ Patterns in intimacy
We will look at interaction patterns such as giving and receiving and see how we can break out of habits and scripts in intimate relationships. We will do this by listening to our bodies and learning about consent and somatic boundaries. We will start speaking about how we get what we want, and how to discover what it is we might want in the here and now.
05 – 11 – 20 ♡ Consciously shaping your close encounters
In this meeting we look at what intimacy means to us. We will look at different ways to explore conscious shaping of intimacy combining this with being as present as possible. We continue learning how consent can sprinkle magic into our interactions and we experiment with saying ‘yes’ and ‘no’ in playful ways.
12 – 11 – 20 ♡ Playfulness
There are different elements that play a key role in creating the kind of intimacy that suits you. We will play with and discuss tempo, power dynamics, fantasy, sensations, intention, mindfulness and breath. All of these key elements will be explored within a framework of consent and open communication. In this session all we have learned about consent and shaping our interaction will be combined with playfulness in our interactions!
